For Age Group swimmers (generally 14
& Under), the program is designed to combine
stroke technique, conditioning and fun in an effort to introduce to the sport
of swimming & develop these swimmers into Elite level swimmers. Age Group
swimmers placed in the Marlin Teals & Marlin Blacks will train at Newark
Academy Monday thru Saturday and at Morristown-Beard on Sundays from Monday,
April 5 thru Friday, June 11th. More advanced swimmers are placed in the Wavebuster Teals, Wavebuster
Blacks and Wavebuster Gold training group and will
train thru approximately July 31, 2010. The Wavebuster
training groups are also afforded opportunities to train and compete in long
course (50 meter pools vs. 25 yard pools). These age groups will utilize the
Springfield Municipal and Summit Municipal “long course pools” for training
starting June 1st.
Elite’s philosophy is that swimming is
both a skill and an endurance sport. Thus, considerable time is spent teaching
the skills of swimming. The program is set up like a school, with swimmers
mastering certain prescribed skills at each level of the program. To progress
thru the program, a swimmer will need to master the skills needed plus will
need to show a commitment to the sport thru attending a minimum of 70% of the
practices.
For Senior Level swimmers
(approximately 14 & Older), the program combines stroke technique analysis
thru digital technology; strength building and serious conditioning to produce
repeated optimum performances and continual development. Senior Level Swimmers
(both Seniors and Senior Preps) will train at
Morristown-Beard Monday thru Thursday and both Saturday and Sunday. Senior
Level Swimmers will also utilize the Springfield Municipal and Summit Municipal
“long course pools” for training starting June 1st.
Swimmers and parents can

Elite” tab on the home page.
